Throughout history, great artists have immersed themselves in God’s Nature Field and shared their unique painterly portrayal. Van Gogh channeled the rhythms of the cosmos in his brushstrokes. Georgia O’Keefe revealed the mystery of the Divine Feminine in a flower. Fredrick Church demonstrated the majesty and power of the waterfalls and exquisite beauty of our region, becoming a 20th century master of the Hudson River School, the first art movement developed by American painters trained in Europe.

Explore and share your unique relationship to God’s greatest creation and the sacredness of Mother Nature’s womb by portraying your impression of the splendor of fall colors. We will first saturate our vision with a look at both Eastern and Western artistic representations of elemental regenerative forces. Creative souls at every level of artistic experience (or with no experience at all) are welcome to draw at the “wellspring of imagination.”
Light of Iris, by, Georgia O'Keeffe
Bring a sketch book, colors and an exquisite object from nature to share on the altar tableau. Accompanied by uplifting music, we will gather and make art together, indoors at the altar or on the comfy covered veranda where the view is exquisite for drawing. For inspiration, check out the painters Charles Burchfield, Emily Carr, William Robinson, and the Hudson River School, the first truly American Art movement of the late 1800’s.
